Rose A. Murphy (Iachetta)
WATERVLIET – Rose A. (Iachetta) Murphy, 93, entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 12, 2018 with her family at her side.

Born in Colonie on February 25, 1925, Rose was the daughter of the late Antonio and Marie (Archer) Iachetta. She was a life-long resident of Watervliet and a 1943 graduate of Watervliet High School. Rose was employed by Montgomery Ward and Company and later by the Manufacturers National Bank which later became Marine Midland Bank, from where she retired in 1990 after more than 25 years of service. In her retirement years, Rose loved to spend time with her family and attend her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She enjoyed bus trips and visiting casinos. In earlier years she enjoyed bowling with the Schuylerettes Bowling League at Thorne’s Bowling Lanes in Watervliet. She had served as Women’s Auxiliary President of the Watervliet Little League and was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Watervliet now Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.

Rose was the much loved mother of John J. (Mary Anne) Murphy of Watervliet, William J. (Patricia) Murphy of Waterford and Edward L. (Rosaire) Murphy of Colonie; cherished grandmother of John, Jr. (Tara), Brian, Scott, Craig and Kelly Murphy and Erin Panetta (Christopher); loving great-grandmother of Trey, Rory and Liam Murphy and McKenzie and Rylee Panetta; dear sister of Joseph (late Doreen) Iachetta, Mary Anne (Charles) Kilcullen and the late Philomena (late Joseph) Ostwald. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Murphy family extends a heartfelt thank you to Loudonville Assisted Living for the wonderful care given to Rose.

A Funeral Mass for Rose will be celebrated by the Reverend Leo F. Markert on Monday at 10:30 am in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet. The Rite of Committal and interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet.
